TRADE GRADE: Breece Hall for Caleb and Jeudy
/After an embarrassing loss to Johnny’s incomplete squad, The Gentleman is shaking things up with a trade. Dana begins his march from the bottom with a new QB and WR.
DANA: B
After Caleb’s bye this week, Dana should be able to set and forget his QB position for the rest of the season, which should be a load off of his mind. He knocked it out of the park last week with Marcus Mariota but streaming QBs is always risky. Dana also bought low on Jerry Jeudy, who soaked up all the targets after Cedric Tillman was injured last week, and Dillon Gabriel can’t be any worse than the fossilized Flacco that Cleveland was trotting out there. The reason I don’t give this an A is because I’m not sold on Jeanty and Montgomery as reliable lead backs and they also both have a week 8 bye so Dana currently doesn’t have a running back for that week and after this slow start, he can’t afford to punt any games.
KEVIN: B+
QB value is all over the place in this league so this might have been an overpay on my part. I also probably sold low on Jerry Jeudy but I have a feeling that the Browns offense is going to lean even heavier on the run now that the rookie is taking over. But ultimately, this deal helped get me back to where I was before, with four good RBs and room to maneuver to trade for a better WR. My receiving corps is the worst in the league since Jauan Jennings gets a new injury every week but we’ll look to fix that next week. Breece Hall hasn’t done much so far but Braelon Allen’s injury could mean more touches for Hall and he also has one of the easier RB schedules for the rest of the season. I can’t say I’m thrilled to have so much invested in the Jets offense (Breece to go along with Garrett Wilson) but I think this trade was a step forward for my squad.
