Week 3 Podcast Review
/Less of a review and more of just a stream of consciousness riff on this week’s podcast.
“It’s all just about money extraction.” Look out, people! Eli’s woken up to the fact that he lives in a capitalist society! Everyone’s trying to get that last dime before the recession hits.
Joking aside, Eli is right. Daily Fantasy sites are like dating sites; only the select few guys actually benefit and once someone gets a look at how the apps are actually run, we’ll learn that most of the site is bots. I just need to know when that dam breaks because DraftKings stock has been good to me.
Eli, did you listen to all of these podcasts back in the days that you fielded championship teams? Wouldn’t your time be better spent listening to history podcasts so you can beef up the History Corner?
And you have to love that, after the Too Much Gambling rant, the first thing that Eli does is make a bet with Andy on their matchup.
Eli, have you been to Guild Hall, the bar with 200 board games?
There’s an LA text thread? The Gentleman weeps. Alone. But, it’s a day that ends in Y so that’s to be expected.
The first podcast curse of the season! Tucker Kraft injures his knee as the Dandyelions sing his praises.
UPDATE: The first blog anti-curse of the season! As soon as I published the blog, word sprung from Packers camp that Kraft seems to be “all good.”
Can you really be a History Corner if you refer to a groundbreaking man as, “This guy, Admiral Richard Byrd.” And how do you not know about the Antarctic Treaty that involves your family’s island?! TAKE HOLD OF YOUR BIRTHRIGHT, ELI! TREATIES ARE NOTHING IN THIS ERA OF AMERICAN EXCELLENCE!
Side note: Did you know that Richard E. Byrd’s middle name was Evelyn?
Kudos to Andy for blowing the lid off of Eli being one of the podcasters who is taking Russian/Antarctic money. Our own Pablo Torre.
I’m not on the text chain and I don’t get a shout out for listening to the end? What a horrible, no good, demoralizing day. Or, in 2025 terms, just another Thursday.
Can we get an outro song to help promote people listening to the whole pod and also so we leave with something more uplifting than Eli’s “Alright.” At least let us hear the click of the key as your turn off the recording!
